The IBGE releases today the Digital Municipal Mesh of Brazil related to 2018, a set of digital files including the representation of all Brazilian municipalities, available here.

The Digital Municipal Mesh of Brazil is published on an annual basis and includes the political-administrative representation of the Brazilian states and municipalities.

Besides the municipal adjustments carried out in accordance to the state bodies in charge of the political-administrative division and/or to the Legislative Assemblies, this edition highlights the refining of the coastal lines and river borders, based on improved cartographic inputs, as well as the updating of the border between the Federal District and Goiás.

Although the Digital Municipal Mesh of Brazil is currently used as a reference by a number of public and private bodies and the society in general, it should be highlighted that the IBGE is not in charge of establishing territorial boundaries.
