National Index of Civil Construction changes 0.36% in August

The National Index for Civil Construction (Sinapi), calculated by the IBGE, recorded a change of 0.36% em julho, being 0.16 percentage points (p.p.) below the rate of the previous month (0.52%). The cumulative index in the year was 3.02%, and in the last 12 months, 4.15%, a result below the 4.01% recorded in the last 12 months. In August 2017, the index was 0.23%. The national cost of construction per square meter, which was R$ 1,095.09 in July, changed to R$ 1,099.01 in August: R$ 566.91 relative to materials and R$ 532.10 to labor force.
The share of Material recorded a change of 0.57%, a result below the index of July (0.88%), and stayed above the rate recorded in August 2017 (-0,12%).
The share of Labor force recorded a change of 0.13%, the same index as in the previous month, although it was below the result of August 2017 (0.60%), with a decrease of 0.47 percentage points.
The cumulative indexes in the year were 4.02% (material) and 1.99% (labor force). In the last 12 months, he cumulative indexes were 5.54% (material) and 2.71% (abor force).
Southeast Region records biggest monthly change
With positive indexes in all the states, the South Region recorded the biggest change in August, 0.53%. In the other areas, the rates were 0.38% (North), 0.16% (Northeast), 0.30% (South) and 0.31% (Central West).
The regional costs, by square meter, were: R$ 1,083.47 (North); R$ 1,021.46 (Northeast); R$ 1,151.72 (Southeast); R$ 1,141.00 (South) and R$ 1,103.92 (Central West).
Rondônia and São Paulo recorded the biggest increases
With positive rates both in terms of materials and of labor force, São Paulo and Rondônia were the states which recorded the biggest monthly changes, 0.85% each.
