The IBGE website released a new set of digital vector files - shape files that can be handled by users - including geospatial information related to geology, geomorphology, vegetation and soils. These maps provide a broader knowledge of environmental and natural resources, allowing to improve the sustainable development.

The thematic geospatial information, in the 1:250,000 scale (1 cm = 2.5 km), is detailed below:

Geology Theme - sheet SD.23 Brasília, encompassing approximately 290,957.85 km2;

Geomorphology Theme – sheets SA.24 Fortaleza, SB.24 Jaguaribe, SB.25 Natal, SE.22 Goiânia and SF.21 Campo Grande, encompassing 692,759.25 km2;

Pedology Theme (Soils) - sheets SB.23 Teresina, SC.23 São Francisco, SD.23 Brasília and SF.21 Campo Grande, encompassing 986,306.31 km2;

Vegetation Theme – sheets SG.21 Asuncion, SG.22 Curitiba and SG.23 Iguape, encompassing 267,189.89 km2.
