National Index of Civil Construction changes by 0.55% in July

The National Index of Civil Construction (Sinapi), estimated by IBGE in partnership with CAIXA, recorded a change of 0.55% in July, dropping 0.05 percentage points in relation to June (0.60%) and contracting 0.19 percentage points in relation to July of 2010 (0.74%) .

Considering the period from January to July of 2011, the high is at 4.39%,while in the same period of 2010 it was at 5.10%. The result of the last 12 months was of 6.61%, below the 6.82% recorded in the immediately previous 12 months. The national cost of construction per square meter, which in June closed at R$ 795.64, changed to R$ 800.02 in July, R$ 441.82 relative to materials and R$ 358.20 to labor force.

The share relative to labor force registered a change of 0.95%, 0.19 percentage points lower than in the previous month (1.14%).

Conversely, the share of materials recorded a difference of 0.06 percentage points, coming from 0.17% in June to 0.23% in July. In the year, labor force rose by 8.06%, whereas materials registered 1.60%. The accumulated indexes in 12 months were: 9.34% (labor force) and 3.88% (materials).

 

South region records the highest monthly change

Pressured by the salary increases of Paraná, the South region, with a high of 2.43%, recorded the highest regional change in July.

The other regions registered the following results: 1.23% (North); 0.19% (Southeast); 0.17% (Central-West) and 0.17% (Northeast).

The regional costs, per square meter, were:

R$ 837.88 (Southeast); R$ 799.81 (North); R$ 799.49 (Central-West); R$ 797.43 (South) and R$ 755.56 (Northeast).

As for the accumulated indexes, the South region stood out with the highest change in the year, 6.13%. However, the highest change in the last 12 months, 7.54%, was recorded by the Central-West region.

Paraná records the highest increase

Due to the pressure from salary increases following a collective work agreement, Paraná registered the highest monthly change: 5.22%.
