The Continuous Cartographic Database of Roraima, in digital environment, will be available from Monday, May 16, at the sites of IBGE,

http://inde.gov.br/, and of the National Spatial DATA Infrastructure (INDE), http://inde.gov.br/.

There will also be a launch in Boa Vista, at 10 a.m., at the auditorium of the Palácio Senador Hélio Campos. The governor, José de Anchieta Júnior, will be present.

The Cartographic Database of Roraima is a continuous mosaic of the state which covers approximately 108 planimetric maps (maps with no information about relief), with data about cities, roads, locations, rivers etc. (as the image above) in the 1:100,000 scale (that is, 1cm on the map corresponds to 1km of territory).

This cartographic base will be a reference for the creation of other maps, with different themes such as geology or hydrography.

That material is the result of a state initiative, through the Secretariat of Planning and Development of Roraima (SEPLAN). SEPLAN elaborated the cartographic database in accordance with the standards of the National Cartographic System, in partnership with IBGE, which, in turn, conducted all the process of the technical evaluation, validation and homologation.

The cartographic database will be part of the Continuous Mapping of the Legal Amazon, which results from the Project, Continuous Cartographic Base of the Legal Amazon 1:100,000, of the Ministry of Environment.

With that database, Roraima can count on a reference tool for government planning and action in the territory.
