The data relative to prospects for the coming harvest are a result of the mutual cooperation between IBGE and the National Agricultural Supply Company (Conab) and represent the initial step for the harmonization of official harvest estimates.

The data relative to prospects for the coming harvest, which have been released today, are a result of the mutual cooperation between IBGE and the National Agricultural Supply Company (Conab) and represent the initial step for the harmonization of official harvest estimates of the main Brazilian crops.

This month’s release is being shown to the public on the same date, but with a one-hour difference: IBGE (9 o’clock) and Conab (10 o’clock). On December 10th, both institutions will start to release, simultaneously, at 9 o’clock, official harmonized estimates for the harvests of major types of crops in Brazil.

After the unification, estimates will be released monthly, on the same date and time. The publication calendar for the Systematic Survey of Agricultural Production has been altered in order to fulfill this demand. Click here to see the new dates .

The monitoring of agricultural harvests will still be receiving the valuable contribution of municipal, state, federal institutions and other organs of the agricultural sector, under the supervision of Groups for the Management of Agricultural Statistics of the Brazilian states (GCEA System) and of the Special Commission for Planning, Control and Evaluation of Agricultural Statistics (Cepagro).
