IPCA-15 : 0,29% in June

The Extended National Consumer Price Index-15 (IPCA-15) in June is 0.29%, slightly above the rate of May (0.26%). As a result, the rates for IPCA-E accumulated in the second quarter, in the year and in the last twelve months are, respectively, 0.77%, 2.18% and 3.44%.

The prices of food products rose by 0.71%, after having fallen by 0.12% in May. The contribution of 0.15 percentage points has caused the group food products and beverages to account for approximately half of the month’s IPCA-15, and be the main responsible for the difference in the indexes from one month to the other.

 

Considering individual contributions, the biggest influence was that of pasteurized milk, the liter of which is now 7.85% more expensive and which contributed to the index with 0.08 percentage points. Cheese (2.13%), powdered milk (1.98%) and heavy cream (1.95%) also rose. Besides milk and dairy products, the consumer now pays 18.82% more for the kilogram of onions, 9.99% more for “carioca” beans, 6.10% for potatoes and 2.92% for a dozen of eggs. These rises were reflected in the price of meals taken outside the household, with rise of 1.21%.

 

Apparel items (1.08%) also became more expensive, being the highlight the rise of footwear (1.24%) and of women’s apparel (1.30%).

 

On the other hand, there was reduction of the expenses with fuels (-1.18%). The liter of alcohol now costs 6.47% less than in the previous month, and this has affected the price of gasoline, which has fallen by 0.78%.

 

Among the indexes by area, Brasília (0.48%) had the highest index, whereas Fortaleza (0.02%) and Porto Alegre (0.00%) had the lowest ones.
