August 08, 2006 10h00 AM | Last Updated: March 08, 2018 12h30 PM

The National Index of Construction, calculated by IBGE in partnership with CAIXA ECONÔMICA FEDERAL, changed by 0.41% in July, having decreased by 0.11 percentage points since June (0.52%). In comparison with July 2005 (0.52%), the index fell by 0.11 percentage points, accumulating a rate of 3.53% in the year and 5.07% in the last twelve months.

The national cost by square meter changed from R$ 560.03 to R$ 562.30, being R$ 324.16 relative to material and R$ 238.14 to manpower.

The cost of manpower rose by 0.58%, due to readjustments occurred in two states; its result was close to that of June (0.61%). Material, on the other hand, with a rate of 0.28%, had strong deceleration in comparison with June (0.46%), and its change was significantly below the figure for manpower.

In the year, the rate accumulated in terms of material was 2.16%; in the last twelve months, 3.90%. Concerning manpower, the accumulated changes were 5.45% and 6.75%, respectively.

South and North Regions stand out due to salary readjustments

The South Region had the biggest rise (0.92%), due to the collective agreement signed in paraná. The change in the North (0.83%) resulted from the pressure exerted by the rate in Amazonas, where there was an agreement as well.

The remaining results by area, all below the national index (0.41%), were, in decreasing order: 0.32% in the Northeast, 0.27% in the Central West, and 0.23% in the Southeast.

The highest accumulated rates accumulated in the year (4.35%) and in 12 months (6.39%) are still those in the Northeast Region. The lowest results in these periods are those observed in the Central west Region (2.92% and 3.94%, respectively).

The costs by area were R$ 601.26 (Southeast); R$ 564.37 (South); R$ 542.01 (North); R$ 532.34 (Central West) and R$ 519.38 (Northeast).

The lowest results in the month were registered in Espírito Santo (0.10%); Rio de Janeiro (0.15%) and in the Federal District (0.16%). Sergipe remains the leader in terms of results accumulated in the year (7.48%) and in 12 months (10.81%).
