IBGE has just released the Estatcart Base of Municipal Information 2004 in CD-ROM version. This new tool will make available more than 700 updated variables about all the municipalities in the country.

IBGE has just released the Estatcart Base of Municipal Information 2004 in CD-ROM version. This new tool will make available more than 700 updated variables about all the municipalities in the country. The data, produced by IBGE and other survey institutes, allow consultation, making of spreadsheets, creation of maps and calculation of indicators, among other possibilities, all in a fast and well-structured way, in order to facilitate the access to municipal information and their analysis as well.

In the Estatcart Base of Municipal Information 2004 can be found the results for Municipal GDP from 1999 to 2002, for the Demographic Census Sample 2000 (IBGE); for the Civil Register (IBGE 2003); for Education (INEP 2004); for Political Participation (data relative to 2004 elections); for Estimated Population 2003, 2004 and 2005 (IBGE); for Enterprises Structure (IBGE 2002); for Traffic (Denatran 2004); for Financial Institutions (Central Bank 2004); for Public Finance (National Treasury 2003); for Health (IBGE 2002 and DATASUS 2004); for Social Indicators 1999 – 2002 (IBGE) and for Agriculture (IBGE 2003). To consult all these sources it is necessary to use Estatcart – System of Recuperation of Georeferenced Information.

The CD-ROM containing the Estatcart Base of Municipal Information 2004 will be sold to all parts of the country through IBGE's virtual shop (www.ibge.gov.br

). It will also be available in stores of the institute in Rio de Janeiro and in IBGE book shops in all the states where there are IBGE offices.
