In July, the national index of construction was 0.52%

The national index of construction, calculated by the IBGE in partnership with Caixa Econômica Federal changed 0.52% in July, falling 0.16 percentage point in relation to June (0.68%). In the year the accumulated index was 5.41%, and in the last twelve months, 10.40%. The national cost per square meter passed to R$ 535.15, with R$ 311.98 related to materials and R$ 223.17 to labor.

In the comparison with July 2004 (0.94%) there was fall of 0.42 percentage point.

Materials increased 0.42% and remained 0.17 percentage point above the index of June (0.25%). Regarding labor, it recoiled 0.64 percentage point, passing from 1.29% in June to 0.65% in July.

In the year, materials accumulated 4.60% remaining below the rate of the same period of 2004 (6.50%). In twelve months, the index reached 11.91%.

The hike of labor, from January to July of 2005, was 6.56%, above the accumulated index of the same period of 2004 (5.18%). In the last twelve months the change remained in 8.36%.

 

The North Region registers the highest index

With hike of 0.86% the North Region was the highlight in July, being this rate influenced by the collective agreement of Amazonas. The Central West Region, in the second position, presented an index of 0.78%, pressured also by wage readjustments in Mato Grosso. The other regional results, all below the national index (0.68%), were, in decreasing order: 0.66% in the South, 0.61% in the Northeast and 0.30% in the Southeast.

Regarding the accumulated rates in the year, the rate of the North was the highest one (6.45%), with the South (5.70%), Northeast (5.27%), Southeast (5.26%) and Central West (5.05%) following it.

In the accumulated index of the last twelve months, the leadership came from the Northeast (11.83%) with the North (10.33%) following it. The other results were the following: 10.30% (South), 10.00% (Southeast) and 8.72% (Central West).

The regional costs were the following: R$ 573.98 (Southeast); R$ 542.33 (South); R$ 512.18 (Central West); R$ 511.83 (North) and R$ 488.18 (Northeast).

 

Among the states, Amazonas and Mato Grosso stood out in July

Due to the wage readjustments, Amazonas with change of 2.84% and Mato Grosso, with 2.22% were the highlights in July. In Mato Grosso do Sul the cost was stable, changing only 0.09%. Following it, were Roraima (0.10%) and Amapá (0.11%).
