The economist of IBGE, Magdalena Cronemberger Goes is going to represent Brazil in the International Workshop on Economic Censuses, scheduled to take place from July 26 to 29, in Beijing, China. Representatives of institutes of statistics of 29 countries, among which India, Japan, Cuba, The United States and Russia, will participate in this event, which is being promoted by the United Nations Statistics Division and by the National Bureau of Statistics of China.

On July 26, Magdalena Cronemberger Goes is going to deliver a lecture about IBGE’s experience , once the institution has, since the beginning of the 1990’s, replaced the Economic Census by a group of integrated economic surveys. In order to perform this task, a central register of enterprises, periodically updated based on information from IBGE’s surveys and from administrative registration of the government, is used.
