295 municipalities with territory changes in 2016

In 2016, 295 Brazilian municipalities had their territories changed. It is unveiled in the update of the Municipal Maps for statistical purposes of the 2016 Population Estimates, which introduces changes due to the most recent state legislation. The annual population estimates produced by the IBGE are based on the Brazilian Political-Administrative Division - DPA.
