National Index of Civil Construction changes 1.02% in June

The National Index of Civil Construction – Sinapi, estimated by the IBGE in partnership with CAIXA, changed 1.02% in June, standing 0.19 percentage points (p.p.) above the May´s rate (0.83%). The rate stayed at 6.99% in the last 12 months, above the figure of 6.68% registered in the 12 immediately previous months. In June 2015, the index was 0.73%.

Having closed May at R$997.60, the national cost of construction per square meter rose to R$1,007.75, being R$528.55 relative to materials and R$479.20 to labor force.

The share relative to materials changed 0.16%, standing close to the May´s rate (0.17%). The share relative to labor force changed 1.97%, increasing 0.39 p.p. in relation to the previous month (1.58%).

The cumulative indexes in the first semester of the year stayed at 2.41% (materials) and 7.10% (labor force), and, in 12 months, at 4.23% (materials) and 10.19% (labor force).

Southeast region records the highest monthly change

Having risen 1.54%, the Southeast Region recorded the highest regional change in June. The other regions posted the following figures: 0.33% (North), 0.82% (Northeast), 1.01% (South) and 0.09% (Central-West).

The regional costs per square meter were: R$1,017.08 (North); R$934.45 (Northeast); R$1,060.18 (Southeast); R$1,032.05 (South) and R$999.76 (Central-West).

Rio de Janeiro records the highest rise

As a result of the pressure exerted by the salary adjustment of the collective work agreement, Rio de Janeiro was the state that registered the highest monthly change: 5.21%, followed by Alagoas (3.73%), Acre (3.53%), Ceará (3.50%), and Santa Catarina (3.21%), also impacted by salary adjustments.
