Updated municipal maps with 206 Brazilian Municipalities are available on IBGE website. They correspond to municipalites which had teir borders changed for the calculation of Population Estimates of 2014. The maps can be accessed for download on ftp://geoftp.ibge.gov.br/mapas_estatisticos/estimativas_populacionais_2014.

Eleven states had their borders changed: Bahia (113), Piauí (17), Alagoas (16), Minas Gerais (14), Pernambuco (13), Maranhão (10), Rio Grande do Sul (10), Rio Grande do Norte (7), Espírito Santo (2), Mato Grosso (2) and Paraíba (2). Each modification affects at least two municipalities.

The maps reflect changes in law, altering municipal borders, also court decisions (Preliminary Verdicts and Writs) and cartographic adjustments officially reported to IBGE as defined in partnership agreements with state bodies.

These territorial changes were submitted to IBGE up to April 30, 2014 and subsequently included in the methodology of Population Estimates 2014 sent to the Brazilian Court of Audit on October 31, 2014.
