The IBGE releases today the 2017 edition of "Brazil in Figures", annual bilingual publication – Portuguese and English – that gathers major social and economic information on Brazil, like the national accounts, price indexes and demographic characteristics. The work will be released today, November 30, at 7pm, at the Pantanal History Museum, in Corumbá, Mato Grosso do Sul. The publication can be purchased at the IBGE Virtual Shop.

Annually published by the IBGE, "Brazil in Figures" brings information on important aspects of the Brazilian reality. In a compact format, the work is a tool for consultation, analyses and planning of all levels of government and society. In addition to the major surveys carried out by the IBGE, data produced by the Central Bank of Brazil, regulatory agencies and ministries were also used as sources.

By means of tables and graphs, this volume presents data on the national territory, demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of the population, prices, national accounts, agricultural, industrial, trade and services activities, public finances, foreign trade, science and technology and basic statistics of the government, as well as comparisons between the Brazilian states. To provide a reflection about its subjects, the work is enriched with articles from distinguished teachers, technicians and researchers.

Aiming at gathering statistical information, knowledge and arts, the 25th edition of "Brazil in Figures" is illustrated with art pieces from the Pantanal History Museum.
