National Index of Civil Construction changes 0.06% in December and closes 2015 at 5.50%

The National Index of Civil Construction (Sinapi), calculated by the IBGE in partnership with CAIXA, changed 0.06% in December, registering a deceleration of 0.22 percentage points over the November´s rate (0.28%).  As a result, 2015 closed at 5.50%. The national cost per square meter changed from R$926.84 in November to R$963.39 in December. Compared with the previous month (0.41%), the share relative to materials (0.11%) dropped 0.30 percentage points. The average cost of the labor force, per square meter, remained unchanged.

The 2015 figures changed 3.78% in terms of materials, whereas the cumulative cost in terms of labor force rose 7.55%, both of them below those of the previous year. In 2014, the share relative to materials closed at 4.90% and that relative to labor force, at 7.74%.

The expenses with materials, per square meter, hit R$516.06 in December 2015. The share relative to labor force closed 2015 at R$447.33. In December 2014, these expenses were at R$497.37 in the case of materials and at R$415.95 in the case of labor force, both of them per square meter.

North Region registers highest monthly change and highest cumulative figure in 2015

In December, the North Region stood out as it recorded the biggest acceleration in cost (0.43%) and the highest cumulative figure (7.92%).  The other changes were:  4.51% (Northeast), 4.95% (Southeast); 7.81% (South) and 5.25% (Central-West).

As for construction costs, the Major Regions posted the following figures per square meter:  R$995.18 (North); R$889.98 (Northeast); R$1001.61 (Southeast); R$999.97 (South) and R$975.71 (Central-West).

In December, Amapá registered the highest rise.

Due to the pressure exerted by salary rises resulting from collective agreements, Amapá recorded the highest monthly rate (3.73%), rising the average costs per square meter to R$988.34. Having posted 10.69%, Amapá also posted the highest cumulative figure in the year.

 


SINAPI, created in 1969, has the purpose of producing information on costs and indexes in a systematic way and with a national coverage, in order to elaborate and evaluate budgets as well as monitor costs.
