The stocking network of agricultural products in operation in Brazil registered an increase of 0.1% in the number of active establishments, compared with the second semester of 2013.  In the first semester of 2014, this network comprised 9,192 active establishments, of which 4,145 were in the South Region, 2,049 in the Central-West, 1,985 in the Southeast, 712 in the Northeast and 301 in the North Region.  By reaching 20.7 million metric tons, soybeans was the product with the largest stock in the period, 0.6% more than that registered in the first semester of 2013. Storage capacity installed in Brazil increases 1.6%

When compared with the results of the second semester of 2013, the storage capacity decreased (-1.5%) in terms of conventional, structural and inflatable warehouses and increased 1.6% in terms of automated and bulk warehouses and 3.7% in terms of silos. As a whole, the storage capacity installed in Brazil increased 1.6%.

Stocks of soybeans, corn, wheat and coffee rise in relation to June 30, 2013

The largest stocks recorded on June 30, 2014 were of soybean grain (20,687,466 metric tons), corn grain (10,357,206 metric tons), paddy rice (4,812,055 metric tons), wheat grain (3,044,290 metric tons) and coffee bean (1,172,810 metric tons). When compared with the stocks existing on June 30, 2013, the stocks of soybean grain, corn grain, wheat grain and coffee bean increased 0.6%, 20.3%, 75.3% and 35.8%, respectively, whereas the stock of paddy rice decreased (-4.6%).
