Food and Beverages was not the only group to fall from one month to the other. Apart from Transportation and Personal Expenses, the other groups presented lower results in June.

In the expenses with Housing, there was a 0.61% reduction from May to 0.55% in June, even with the significant highs in water and sewage fees (0.95%), housing rent (0.84%) and cleaning products (0.92%). That was due to electricity, which moved from 3.71% in May to 0.13% in June, as a result of the drops of 3.76% in Rio de Janeiro, 1.07% in Belo Horizonte and 1.35% in Brasília. The result of water and sewage occurred because of the rise in the Metropolitan Areas of Salvador (5.67%), repriced at 7.80% since June 6, and Belo Horizonte (2.79%), at 6.18% on May 13.

Health and Personal Care stayed at 0.60% in June, after the 0.98% rate of the previous month, since it left behind the effects of the repricing of March 31 in Medicine (from 1.47% in May to 0.29% in June).

Besides the groups aforementioned, there were strong reductions in the growth rates of Household Articles (1.03% in May to 0.38% in June) and of Wearing apparel (0.84% in May to 0.49% in June). Another two groups that had results below the previous month, in a total of seven out of the nine places, were Communication (0.11% to -0.02%) and Education (0.13% to 0.02%).

On the other hand, with the FIFA World Cup in Brazil, the hotel daily rates rose 25.33% and took the group of Personal Expenses to 1.57% in June (0.80% in May), responding for both the highest change and the major impact of the group (0.17 percentage points).

Likewise, because of the Cup, airfares became, on average, 21.95% more expensive; as a result, the group Transportation went to 0.37%, after a drop of 0.45% in May, despite the cheaper prices of the liter of ethanol and gasoline (3.42% and 0.72%, respectively). The 0.58% change in urban bus fees also stands out against the 0.72% rate of the previous month. June's result is due to the areas of Belo Horizonte (2.52%), repriced at 7.54%, on May 10; Belém (5.73%), at 9.09%, on May 19; and Goiânia (0.72%), at 3.70% on May 3.

Therefore, hotel daily rates, with 0.11 percentage points, coupled with airfares, with 0.09 points, lead the ranking of the major impacts. Together, they accounted for 0.20 percentage points and were responsible for half of the month's IPCA.

Among the indexes by area, the highest one was registered Recife (0.71%), where hotel daily rates presented increase of 32.69% and weight of 0.94%, exerting an impact of 0.31 percentage points in the result. The lowest index occurred in Belém (0.21%), due to the decrease of 0.56% in food at home.
