The stock network of agricultural products in the country posted a drop of 0.5% in the number of active establishments, as compared to the second semester of 2011. In the end of the first semester of 2012, this network comprised 9 275 active establishments, of which 4 207 (45.4%) were in the South region, 2 068 (22.3%) in the Southeast region, 1.968 (21.2%) in the Central-West, 725 (7.8%) in the Northeast and 307 (3.3%) in the North region.

Installed carrying capacity in the country grew 1.6% in the 1st semester of 2012

 

The carrying capacity of conventional, temporary and inflatable warehouses totaled 73 319 337 cubic meters. From this total, a little more than 70.0% were concentrated in the Southeast and South regions.

Automated and bulk warehouses totaled 57 913 040 metric tons of carrying capacity, with the Central-West region accounting for 49.7% of this capacity and the South for 32.4%.

Grain silos presented 57 972 346 metric tons of the total carrying capacity in the country. The South region covered 56.3% of this total and the Central-West and Southeast regions, 24.8% and 13.7%, respectively.

The results of the carrying capacity, when compared to those of the to the survey of the second semester of 2011, posted a 0.8% drop in the carrying capacity of the conventional, temporary and inflatable warehouses and an increase of 1.1% in the carrying capacity of bulk and automated warehouses and of 4.1% in the carrying capacity of silos.  The total installed carrying capacity in the country grew 1.6%, rising from 157.3 million to 159.9 million metric tons.

 

Rice, soybean, wheat and coffee supplies fall in relation to 06/30/2011

 

The largest stocks recorded on June 30 of 2012 were soybean in grain (19 025 656 t), corn in grain (9 243 577 t), paddy rice (5 327 553 t), wheat in grain (2 749 178 t) and coffee in grain (752 432 t).

When compared to the stocks of the main products available on June 30 of 2011, the soybean, rice, wheat and coffee supplies presented falls of 29.8%, 14.5%, 2.7% and 6.4%, respectively, whereas the corn stock registered a rise of 28.1%.
