The National Index of Civil Construction (Sinapi), estimated by IBGE in partnership with CAIXA, recorded a change of 0.70% in June, up 0.04 percentage points in relation to May (0.66%) and 0.10 percentage points above June of 2011 (0.60%) . Considering the first six months of the year, the rise was at 3.26%, against 3.82% of the same period in 2011. The result of the last twelve months was 5.08%, above the 4.98% recorded in the immediately previous twelve months.

The national cost of construction per square meter, which in May had closed at R$ 830.28, changed to R$ 836.06 in June: R$ 447.28 relative to materials and R$ 388.78 to labor force.

The share of labor force registered a change of 1.32%, contracting 0.04 percentage points in relation to the previous month (1.36%), while materials, with  0.16%, in June, registered an increase of  0.09 percentage points in relation to May (0.07%). The accumulated indexes in twelve months were: 9.57% (labor force) and 1.47% (materials).

South region records highest monthly change: 1.80%

The South region, up 1.80%, obtained the highest regional rate in June this year. The remaining results were: 1.49% (Central-West); 0.68% (Northeast); 0.28% (Southeast) and 0.28% (North). The South region stood out with the highest change in the last 12 months (7.01%).  In relation to the accumulated indexes, the highest rate occurred in the Southeast (4.14%)  

The regional costs, per square meter, were:  R$ 877.81 (Southeast); R$ 838.56 (North); R$ 833.09 (South); R$ 832.17 (Central-West) and  R$ 787.30 (Northeast).

Santa Catarina stands out with highest rise: 6.04%

Due to the pressure from salary increases following a collective work agreement, Santa Catarina registered the highest monthly rate, 6.04%.
