The National Index of Civil Construction (Sinapi), calculated by IBGE in partnership with CAIXA recorded increase of 0.52% in March, having changed by 0.13 percentage points in relation to the figure in February (0.39%). In the last twelve months the change rate was 6.88%, below the 7.15% relative to the immediately previous twelve months.

 

The national cost of construction by square meter, which was R$ 771.45 in February, changed to R$ 775.43 in March, being R$ 438.71 relative to material and R$ 336.72 to manpower.

 

Material recorded change of 0.16%, being 0.23 percentage points lower than in the previous month (0.39%), manpower recorded hike of 0.59 percentage points, having changed from 0.39% in February to 0.98% in March. In the year, material rose 0.88% and manpower, 1.58%. Figures accumulated in twelve months were: 5.09% (material) and 9.28% (manpower).

 

Southeast Region was the highlight in March

 

Due to salary rises in Rio de Janeiro, the Southeast Region, with increase of 1.05%, recorded the highest regional rate in March. Other results were: 0.30% (South), 0.14% (Central West), 0.13% (Northeast) and 0.12% (North).

 

Costs by area, by square meter, were: R$ 818.49 (Southeast); R$ 783.20 (North); R$ 757.88 (Central West); R$ 756.46 (South) and R$ 734.10 (Northeast).

 

In relation to accumulated results, the Northeast Region was the highlight with the highest rates in the year. Considering the index accumulated in twelve months, the Central West recorded the biggest change, 8.41%.

 

Rio de Janeiro records biggest increase

 

Due to the contribution of salary rises resulting from collective agreements, Rio de Janeiro recorded the highest rates in the month (4.92%) and accumulated in the year (5.45%).
