That was the lowest rate since the beginning of the survey series, started in March of 2002.

In relation to October (6.1%) the unemployment rate dropped 0.4 percentage points and, in relation to November of 2009 (7.4%), contracted 1.7 percentage points. The unemployed population (1.359 million) reached its lowest rate since 2002, registering a fall (-5.9%) compared with October and also with November of last year. -20.7% or 354 thousand unemployed people less. The employed population (22.4 million) was stable (0.2) in relation to October and grew 3.7% (or 795 thousand jobs more) in the year. The number of workers with a formal contract in the private sector (10.4 million) in November of 2010 was stable in the monthly analysis and grew 8.7% in the annual comparison (or more 839 thousand jobs with a formal contract). The workers’ real average income (R$ 1,516.70) contracted (-0.8) in the month and grew 5.7% compared with November a year ago. The volume of the real average income usually earned (R$ 34.4 billion), in November, had a fall (-0.6%) in relation to October and grew 9.6% in relation to November a year ago.

 

The volume of the effective real average income (R$ 34.4 billion) estimated in October of 2010 was stable in the month and grew 10.4% in the year.

 

 

 

 

The unemployment rate of November (5.7%) was the lowest since the beginning of the survey series started in March of 2002 for the six surveyed metropolitan regions (São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Salvador, Recife and Porto Alegre).

In relation to October (6.1%) the rate dropped 0.4 percentage points. Compared with November of 2009 (7.4%) the fall was of 1.7 percentage points.

 

The unemployment rate average from January to November was estimated in 6.9%, a decrease of 1.3 percentage points compared with the same period a year ago (8.2%).

 

 

 

 

 

The workers’ real average income usually earned (R$ 1,516.70), in the group of the six regions, dropped (-0.8%) in the monthly comparison and rose by 5.7% compared with November a year ago.

 

The volume of the real average income usually earned by employed persons (R$ 34.4 billion), in November of 2010, had a fall (-0.6%) in relation to October and grew 9.6% in relation to November a year ago.

 

 

The employed persons’ volume of the effective real average income (R$ 34.4 billion) estimated in October of 2010 was stable in the month and grew 10.4% in the year.

 

 

 

 



 

The number of unemployed persons, estimated in 1.359 million in the group of the six surveyed regions, reached its lowest level since March of 2002, and registered a drop of 5.9% in relation to October (85 thousand people) and 20.7% compared with November of 2009, that is:

less 354 thousand people looking for a job .

 

The employed population in the total six metropolitan regions remained stable compared with October in all activity groups.

Compared with November of 2009, five activity groups recorded significant change: high in trade, house, personal objects and motor vehicle repair and fuel retail trade, 3.4%; in services provided to companies, renting, real estate activities and financial intermediation (4.1%); in education, health, social services, public administration, defense and social security (7.7%) and in other services (6.7%). There was a contraction in House services (4.6%).

 

The number of workers with a formal contract in the private sector (10.4 million) in November of 2010, for the six regions, was stable in the monthly analysis. In the annual comparison, it grew 8.7%, accounting for 839 thousand jobs with a formal contract in this period.
