National Index of Civil Construction changed 0.74% in July

The National Index of Civil Construction (Sinapi), calculated by IBGE in partnership with Caixa Econômica Federal (CAIXA), changed 0.74% in July, increasing 0.08 percentage point in relation to the result of June (0.66%). Compared to the rate of July 2009 (0.48%), the current index showed a rise. The accumulated from January to July was 5.10%, above that verified in the same period of 2009 (4.17%). In the last 12 months, the change rate was 6.79%, above the 6.52% recorded in the immediately previous 12 months.
The national cost of construction, by square meter, which in June had been R$ 747.36, in July changed to R$ 752.86, being R$ 424.66 relative to materials and R$ 328.20 to labor.
The term of materials presented a variation of 0.49%, below the rate of June (0.53%). On the other hand, the component labor recorded acceleration (0.23 percentage point), with a rate of 1.06% in July, against 0.83% in June. That because, in July, expressive variations were incorporated to labor in some states, due to the occurrence of salary readjustments.
In the year, materials increased 2.91%, above the 2.61% of the same period of last year. Labor increased 8.07%, above the rate recorded in the same period of 2009 (6.35%). In the last 12 months, the accumulated were: 4.60% (materials) and 9.77% (labor).
Central West region stands out in July
The index relative to the Central West recorded variation of 2.26%, the most elevated in July. The Southeast presented the lowest result (0.24%).
The other indexes had the following variations: 2.05% in the South, 0.58% in the North and 0.34% in the Northeast.
The Central West recorded the highest accumulated in the year (7.61%) and in 12 months (9.33%). The lowest result in the accumulated in the year occurred in the Southeast (4.65%) and in the accumulated in 12 months, in the South (5.88%).
The regional costs, by square meter, were R$ 794.13 (Southeast), R$ 751.51 (North), R$ 739.14 (South), R$ 736.77 (Central West) and R$ 704.38 (Northeast).
Mato Grosso, Paraná and Acre recorded the highest rises
Because of the salary readjustments due to a collective agreement, Mato Grosso (6.65%), Paraná (4.89%) and Acre (4.01%) presented, in July, the highest increases in their variation rates. The lowest monthly rates were recorded in Piauí (0.10%), Minas Gerais (0.12%) and Roraima (0.17%).
Roraima (0.84%) and Pernambuco (1.27%) presented the lowest accumulated in the year. Amazonas (3.66%) and Roraima (4.14%) presented the lowest accumulated in the last 12 months.
