IBGE informs there was a problem in the IPCA results for May 2007 for the metropolitan areas of Porto Alegre and São Paulo. The corrected figures are shown in the table below:

There was a mistake in the database processing of the results in these two metropolitan areas. After the necessary adjustments, the IPCA rate in Brazil changed by less than 0.01 percentage points. These corrections, however, will be only included in the calculation of IPCA in June. Therefore, the rate for May 2007 will remain at 0.28%, without any damage to the calculation of the IPCA for year 2007.
