The Monthly Employment Survey (PME) is publishing for the first time the overall effective income of the employed population (2) , estimated in R$ 22.5 billion for the six metropolitan areas in February 2007.  There was stability in relation to January, but hike of 7.7% in relation to February 2006, the major change in this month, as shows the time series: February of 2002 to 2003 (-0.2%); February of 2003 to 2004 (-1.9%); February 2004 to 2005 (6.8%); February 2005 to 2006 (3.5%).

The Monthly Employment Survey of the IBGE also begins to publish the income of work of persons with 10 years old or more using a methodological refinement. For more details we recommend to access the methodological note "Imputation of values referent to the variables of income of  work"  in the site of IBGE (www.ibge.gov.br).
