Today, July 07, IBGE has started collecting information for the Survey of Technological Innovation – PINTEC 2005, which receives aid from FINEP. Information about 14,423 companies all over the country will be collected. This sample of the survey represents the group of 100,657 industrial, telecommunication, computer science and R&D companies with 10 or more employees. The interviews will be done in the companies or by telephone.

The aim of PINTEC is to know the technological activites developed and the innovation implemented by Brazilian companies, in order to produce and make known several regional and national indicators compatible with international data. The survey, in its third edition, will no longer be conducted every three years, but every two years and its range now includes telecommunication, computer science and Research and Development (R&D) companies. The results of PINTEC will be released by IGBE in June 2007.
