In March, national index of construction was 0.47%

The National Index of Construction, calculated by the IBGE in partnership with CAIXA (Caixa Econômica Federal), changed 0.47%, recoiling 0.18 percentage point in relation to the result of February (0.65%).
In the comparison with March 2004 (0.80%), the current result was lower in 0.33 percentage point. In the year, the accumulated index was 1.85% and in twelve months, 10.65%.
The national cost per square meter passed from R$ 514.66 (February) to R$ 517.09 (March), being R$ 304.90 relative to materials and R$ 212.19 to labor force.
Materials increased 0.08 percentage point passing from 0.69% in February to 0.77% in March. In the year, the hike was 2.23% and in twelve months, 13.93%.
Labor force remained stable increasing only 0.05%, with a recoil of 0.55 percentage point in relation to the rate of February (0.60%). This performance influenced the national index (0.47%). In the year, labor force increased 1.31% and in the last twelve months the accumulated index was 6.26%.
North Region presented the highest index
The North presented the highest regional index in March (0.59%), close to the results observed in the Southeast (0.56%) and South (0.54%). The Northeast with indexes of 0.37% and the Central West (0.13%) remained below the national average (0.47%).
Regarding the highest accumulated rates, stood out in the year the North (3.03%) and in 12 months the Northeast (12.57%). The Southeast and Central West Regions remained with the lowest accumulated index in the year (1.14%) and the North (9.92%) and the Southeast (9.96%) in the index accumulated in twelve months.
The regional costs were the following: R$ 551.50 (Southeast); R$ 522.39 (South); R$ 495.38 (North); R$ 493.14 (Central West) and R$ 477,60 (Northeast).
Among the states, Espírito Santo, Amapá and Roraima stood out in March
Espirito Santo (1.26%), Amapá (1.16%) and Roraima (1.13%) were the states that recorded changes above the level of 1.00%. The other states presented results below this value.
The construction costs remained stable in Maranhão (0.02%), Ceará (0.05%) and Federal District (0.06%).
Amapá presented the highest accumulated index in the year (8.47%) and Paraíba in the accumulated index of twelve months (17.63%).
