The prices were collected from June 10th until July 13th and confronted with the prices collected from May 13th until June 9th.

The IPCA-15 from July concentrated the increases in the prices of fuels, electricity and landline telephone, besides food products, influenced by the weather. The increase in alcohol fuel (from 5.20% to 7.11%) was a consequence of sugarcane price rise. Gasoline (from 0.52% to 5.64%) reflects the price increase of 10.8% in the distributors on June 15th.

In the electricity segment (from 0.28% to 0.67%), all figures came from the price rice practiced in São Paulo (1.26%), Curitiba (4.85%) and Porto Alegre (0.47%).

Among the areas, the highest result was in Curitiba (1.35%), and the lowest, in Fortaleza (0.29%).

IPCA-15 refers to families with monthly income between one and 40 minimum wages, whatever the source and encompasses the metropolitan areas of Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre, Belo Horizonte, Recife, São Paulo, Belém, Fortaleza, Salvador and Curitiba besides Brasília and Goiânia. IPCA-15 is measured following the same methodology used on IPCA, which collects prices during the calendar month. The difference between the indexes lies on the period of price collection.
