National Index of Civil Construction changes 0.84% in February

The National Index of Civil Construction (Sinapi), estimated by IBGE, recorded a change of 0.84% in February, up 0.29 percentage points in relation to January (0.55%). The last 12 months stayed at 6.65% - above the 5.86% result recorded in the 12 previous months. The index was 0.18% in February 2015. The complete publication of the survey can be accessed at here.
The national cost of construction, by square meter, which in January close at R$ 968,70, in February rose to R$ 976,82: R$ 523,53 relative to material and R$ 453,29 to labor force
The share relative to materials registered a change of 1,04%, increasing 0.64 percentage points in relation to January (0.40%). On the other hand, the share of labor force presented a change of 0,60%, falling 0,12 percentage points over the previous month (0,72%). In the first two months of the year,the cumulative indexes are of 1,44% (material) and 1,32% (labor force). In 12 months, they stayed at 4,88% (material) and 8,54% (labor force).
Northeast Region has the greatest monthly change
The Northeast Region, with 1.29%, recorded the biggest regional change in February. The other regions presented the following results: 0.57% (North), 0.62% (Southeast), 0.96% (South) and 0.47% (Central-West Region).
The regional costs, by square meter, were: R$ 1,006.32 (North); R$ 911.11 (Northeast); R$ 1,010.58 (Southeast); R$ 1,011.28 (South) and R$ 986.11 (Central-West Region).
In February, Pernambuco records the greatest high in the month
Due to the pressure from salary increases following a collective work agreement, Pernambuco was the state with the highest monthly change: 4.91%. Following Pernambuco, comes Rio Grande do Sul, with a monthly change of 2.27%, due to salary advance.
