National Index of Civil Construction changes by 0.73% in June

The National Index of Civil Construction (Sinapi), calculated by IBGE in partnership with CAIXA, changed by 0.73% in June, being 0.53 percentage points below the May rate (1.26%). Considering the first semester of 2015, the result was 3.15%. The last 12 months recorded a rate of 5.66%, above the 5.51% recorded in the previous 12 months. In June 2014, the index was 0.59%. The national cost of construction, by square meter, had closed May at R$ 935.20, and changed to R$ 942.00 in June, being R$ 507.16 relative to material and R$ 434.84 to workforce.

Materials recorded a change of 0.42%, having fallen by 0.12 percentage points since the previous month (0.54%). Workforce recorded a change of 1.08% and was 1.04 percentage points below the May result (2.12%). Cumulative indexes in the year are 1.98% (material) and 4.54% (workforce), having reached, in 12 months, 3.60% (material) and 8.12% (workforce), respectively.

South Region registers biggest change in June

With a change of 1.17%, the South Region recorded the biggest increase in June. The other results were: 0.63% (North); 0.51% (Northeast); 0.79% (South) and 0.64% (Central West).

Regional costs, by square meter, were: R$ 942.96 (North); R$ 872.88 (Northeast); R$ 994.68 (Southeast); R$ 956.45 (South) and R$ 940.19 (Central West).

Acre records biggest increase

Due to the pressure exerted by salary rises resulting from a collective agreement, Acre, among the states, recorded the biggest monthly change: 3.79%. It is followed by Mato Grosso do Sul, 3.37%; Santa Catarina, 3.34%; Alagoas, 3.11% Espírito Santo, 2.74%; Sergipe, 2.53%; and Paraíba, 1.73%, also due to the impact caused by salary adjustments.
