The National Index of Civil Construction (Sinapi), calculated by IBGE, recorded a change of 0.64% in October, standing 0.38 percentage points below the September rate (0.26%). The result of the last twelve months was 6.37%, below the 5.98% recorded in the immediately previous twelve months. The index of October 2015 was 0.27%. The national of construction, by square meter, which closed September at R$ 1,014.80, rose to R$ 1,021.25 in October. A total R$ 531,49 are relative to material and R$ 489.76, to manpower.

The share relative to labor force registered a change of 0.10%, 0.49 percentage points below the rate of the previous month (0.59%). In terms of manpower, the change of 1.23% recorded increase of 1.33 percentage points in relation to the previous month (-0.10%). From January to August, the cumulative figures are: 2.97% (material) and 9.47% (workforce), whereas in twelve months, they were: 3.51% (material) and 9.62% (workforce).

North region records highest monthly change:

The North Region recorded the biggest change in October (1.63%), followed by the South (0.84%), Southeast (0.81%), Northeast (0.16%) and Central West (0.16%). Figures for regional costs by square meter were: R$ 1,038.04 (North); R$ 940.73 (Northeast), R$ 1,073.36 (Southeast), R$ 1,045.37 (South) and R$ 1,031.78 (Central-West).

Paraná records biggest increase

Due to the contribution of salary adjustments resulting from a collective agreement, the state of Pará recorded the biggest monthly change (3.64%), followed by Rio Grande do Sul (2.25%) and São Paulo (1.55%), both results due to the impact of the second parcel of the salary adjustment expected according to the collective agreement.
