National Index of Civil Construction changes 0.10% in November

Computed by the IBGE, the National Index of Civil Construction - Sinapi changed 0.10% in November, standing quite below the October´s rate (0.64%). The cumulative index in the last 12 months was 6.18%, below the figure of 6.37% recorded in the immediately previous 12 months. The index was 0.28% in November 2015.

Having closed October at R$1,021.25, the national cost of construction per square meter stayed at R$1,022.26 in November, being R$531.18 relative to materials and R$491.08 to workforce. 

The share relative to materials stayed at -0.06%, dropping 0.16 percentage points over the previous month (0.10%). The share relative to workforce changed 0.27%, much less than in the previous month (1.23%). From January to November 2016, the cumulative figures stayed at 2.91% (materials) and 9.77% (workforce) and, in 12 months, stayed at 3.03% (materials) and 9.77% (workforce).

Northeast Region records biggest monthly change

Having recorded 0.53%, the Northeast Region posted the biggest regional change in November. The other regions registered the following figures: -0.12% (North), -0.15% (Southeast), 0.05% (South) and 0.13% (Central-West).

The regional costs per square meter were: R$1,036.79 (North), R$945.74 (Northeast), R$1,071.71 (Southeast), R$1,045.86 (South) and R$1,033.10 (Central-West).

Pernambuco records the biggest rise

Having posted 2.47%, Pernambuco was the Federation Unit that registered the highest monthly change, due to the pressure exerted by salary adjustments resulting from collective work agreements.

Created in 1969, SINAPI aims at producing information on costs and indexes in a systematic way and with a national coverage, in order to elaborate and evaluate budgets as well as monitor costs.
