In Salvador (BA), IBGE will release results of 2022 Census: Surroundings of Favelas and Urban Communities

The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) will release, on December 5, at 10am, in Salvador (BA), the results of the “2022 Population Census: Urban characteristics of the surrounding of housing units in Favelas and Urban Communities.” The press release will be held at the Franco Pellegrini Human Rights Center (CEDHU).
The release includes a set of information regarding the aspects observed on the faces of streets, inside and outside favelas and urban communities, showing the maximum circulation capacity of the road, the existence of afforestation, road pavement, manholes or storm drains, street lighting, bus stops, signaled bicycle lanes, sidewalks, obstacles on the sidewalk and ramps for wheelchair users. The indicators are presented for the entire country, Major Regions, states, municipalities, favelas and urban communities and other geographies based on municipalities.
The release will also be broadcast on the IBGE's social media and on the IBGE Portal, in the Digital IBGE section. The results can be accessed on the IBGE portal and on platforms such as SIDRA and the Interactive Geographic Platform (PGI) , and in the latter two they can also be viewed through interactive maps.
