New layout reinforces IBGE News Agency as multimedia platform

The IBGE News Agency will have a new look next Thursday (2), including the new design of the main page, which integrates the multimedia production of the news section, Retratos Magazine and IBGE Minute. The change happens two years after the Agency was launched, in May 2017, improving the experience of users browsing the home page.
Up to March this year, the Agency received an average of 4 million single visitors, with more than 150 million pages accessed. March also registered the record number of accesses in a single month, with 316 thousand views and 13 million pages accessed. The access statistics to every IBGE website can be viewed on a monthly basis on the IBGE portal.
The IBGE Minute, with weekly radio programs, and the Retratos Magazine, in the monthly version in PDF and in the stories in digital format, will be highlighted and they will be closer to the news, which cover the release of the IBGE´s surveys. The Agency also produces video stories and interviews, available in the IBGE official page on YouTube.
Marcelo Benedicto, the IBGE´s manager of Journalism, explains that the changes favor the latest news released, regardless of the section, valuing the up-to-dateness required by the press and society. "The titles will be more compacted, looking like headlines", completes him.
The news will not stop here. Gradual redesigns in the media database and in the weekly newsletter are scheduled for the next months.
