The IBGE Online School started, this Tuesday (11), through its new ENCE Citizenship environment, registration for two more courses: Extracting Information from theb IBGE and the IBGE Automatic Retrieval System (SIDRA). Offered free of charge in the self-instructional distance learning (EAD) mode, the courses are open to all interested parties, and a certificate of completion will be given to all those who obtain a passing grade. The links for registration are available in the Citizenship tab of the new EVIBGE portal at: https://escolavirtual.ibge.gov.br/.

In the course "Extracting Information from IBGE," which has a workload of 20 hours, participants will learn concepts that guide the use of data to extract information and the different extraction possibilities made available by IBGE. From the date of registration, the student will have up to 40 days to complete the course.

In the course on SIDRA, with a workload of 25 hours, the participant will learn how to perform basic actions using the IBGE Automatic Retrieval System – SIDRA, and, at the end of the course, they will be able to carry out searches, create tables, obtain rankings, download informatiom and generate graphs and cartograms. The course can be completed within 60 days from the date of registration.

For those interested in taking both courses, in order to obtain a better learning experience, we suggest that they be taken in the sequence presented as a more practical way how to find and extract information from data produced by the IBGE.

Access the IBGE Online School Portal. It now has a new design, greater focus on user experience, and an exclusive section for courses developed and designed for the Brazilian society: ENCE CIDADANIA (ENCE CITIZENSHIP). With the launch of Extracting Information from the IBGE and SIDRA, a total of five courses will be available to the public, including those that opened on October 20th: National Statistical System (20 hours); Understanding IBGE's Statistical Surveys (20 hours); and Introduction to Social Indicators (20 hours).
