IBGE releases MUNIC with a thematic section on the climatic event: storm in Rio Grande do Sul

In partnership with the Association of Municipalities in the Production Zone (AMZOP), the Survey of Basic Municipal Information (MUNIC) 2024 approached aspects such as the municipalities affected, warning systems and emergency plans of municipal governments.
The IBGE is honored to invite for the release of results of the thematic event – storm in Rio Grande do Sul – within the Survey of Basic Municipal Information (MUNIC) 2024. The annual study analyzes the political and institutional structure of municipal governments.
The event will take place in the auditorium of the Madre Tereza State Institute of Education, in Seberi (RS), with the support of the Association of Municipalities of the Production Zone (AMZOP), which represents cities in Rio Grande do Sul. The event will feature a presentation highlighting a thematic section on the 2024 storm. In Rio Grande do Sul, the study addressed aspects such as affected municipalities, alert systems, and contingency plans of the municipal governments. The opening ceremony will be attended by Adilson Adam Balestrin, mayor of Seberi and president of AMZOP; Mara Lúcia de Araújo Falcão, president of the Seberi City Council; and Adriane Perin de Oliveira, president of the Federation of Associations of Municipalities of Rio Grande do Sul (FAMURS).
The event will also have the participation of the Deputy Director of Surveys at the IBGE, Vladimir Miranda; Vânia Pacheco, the IBGE manager of Social Studies and Surveys; José Daniel Castro da Silva, general coordinator of the IBGE's Center for Information Documentation and Dissemination; and Higor Lopes Barcelos, researcher at the IBGE's Directorate of Geosciences.
