Another edition of the Federal Government's Federative Caravan takes place this week, in Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná. On October 30 and 31, the IBGE services will be available live for all participants in the event, which will welcome citizens, social movements, leaders and representatives of the state and municipalities in the region.

The Federative Caravans project aims to bring the government closer to society, bringing together the services of federal public offices in one place. Each edition is offered in a Federation unit, where services, information and technical support are provided directly to the population and local managers.

“The Federative Caravan is a great opportunity for municipal managers in Paraná, in a single event, to obtain assistance from the most diverse offices, in addition to access to Federal Government programs that can benefit the population of their municipalities,” points out Elias Ricardo, the IBGE´s Superintendent in the state.

This year, the IBGE had the opportunity to participate in other editions, in Natal (RN) and São Luís (MA), providing services to the public at its booth, where it is possible to ask questions, consult the Institute's databases, in addition to receiving informative and promotional material, such as maps and other free publications.

Programming includes workshops and cultural activities

The Paraná edition will occupy the convention area of the Mabu Thermas Grand Resort, which will host musical groups, workshops, forums for public managers, debate sessions, among other activities, as well as services at the booths of offices and ministries.

The IBGE desk will be reinforced by the team from the Foz do Iguaçu Branch, which will also offer two workshops to Caravan participants on Friday, October 31. At 8:30 am, in the Buenos Aires Hall, the head of the Branch, Alexandro Castagnaro, will carry out the workshop “Tools for research in the IBGE databases,” aimed at those who do not yet know or how to use the several platforms for accessing data produced by the Institute's surveys, such as the IBGE Automatic Retrieval System – SIDRA and the @Cidades Portal. Then, at 9:30 am, officer Bruna Nunes Vieira will present the pedagogical resources designed to assist educators in the use of surveys in the classroom, in the ‘IBGEeduca” workshop.

The Federative Caravans are organized by the Secretariat of Institutional Relations (SRI) of the Presidency of the Republic, through its Secretariat for Federative Affairs (Seaf). In Foz do Iguaçu, more than 40 offices and ministries confirmed their presence in the provision of services and in coordination with local and national movements and entities.
