IPCA stands at 0.24% in June

The Extended National Consumer Price Index (IPCA) of June changed by 0.24%, being 0.02 percentage points (p.p.) below the rate of 0.26% of May. In the year, the cumulative IPCA is 2.99% and, in the last twelve months, the index was 5.35%, above the 5.32% registered in the immediately previous 12 months. in June 2024, the change amounted to 0.21%.

Of the nine groups of products and services surveyed, in June, only Food and beverages recorded a negative change (-0.18%), whereas the others stood between 0.99% in Housing and 0.00% in Education.

With the red tariff flag level 1 in effect in June, adding R$4.46 to the electricity bill for every 100 kWh consumed, residential electricity (2.96%) was the sub-item with the greatest individual impact on the month's index (0.12 p.p.). The following adjustments were also recorded: 7.36% in Belo Horizonte (8.57%), in effect since May 28; 14.19% at one of the concessionaires in Porto Alegre (4.41%) as of June 19; 1.97% in Curitiba (3.28%) as of June 24; and a 2.16% reduction in tariffs at one of the concessionaires in Rio de Janeiro (1.29%) as of June 17.

In the year, residential electricity has a cumulative increse of 6.93%, standing out as the main individual impact (0.27 pp) on the cumulative IPCA result (2.99%). This change (6.93%) is the biggest for a first half since 2018 when the cumulative result was 8.02%.
Also in Housing, the water and sewage rate (0.59%) included the following price adjustmensts: 9.88% in Brasilia (9.27%) from June 1; 4.76% in Rio Branco (2.19%) since May 1st; 3.83% in Curitiba (2.07%) from May 17 and 6.58% in Porto Alegre (0.32%) in force since May 4.
Transportation, after the 0.37% retreat in May, ranged 0.27% in June. Even with the fall of fuels (-0.42%), changes in ride sharing apps (13.77%) and car repair (1.03%) added to the increase. Taxi (0.64%) reflects the average adjustment of 8.71% in tariffs in Belo Horizonte (6.54%) from June 7.
In Apparel (0.75%), the increases in men's clothing (1.03%), footwear and accessories (0.92%), and women's clothing (0.44%) stood out.
Food and beverages, which accounted for the highest weight in the index, was the only one of the nine product sand services surveyed to show a negative change in June (-0.18%), after a 0.17% increase in May. After nine consecutive months of increases, the drop in June was driven by food at home, which fell from 0.02% in May to -0.43% in June, with decreases in chicken eggs (-6.58%), rice (-3.23%), and fruits (-2.22%). Among the increases, tomatoes (3.25%) stood out.
Food away from home recorded a 0.46% change in June, compared to 0.58% in May. The snack subitem accelerated from 0.51% in May to 0.58% in June, and meals, in turn, went from 0.64% in May to 0.41% in June.
As for regional indexes, the biggest change (0.64%) occurred in Rio Branco due to cinema, theater and shows (77.22%), with the end of the half-price promotion, and residential electricity (3.99%). The smallest change occurred in Campo Grande (-0.08%) due to the drop in fruits (-5.15%) and gasoline (-1.38%).

O IPCA é calculado pelo IBGE desde 1980, se refere às famílias com rendimento monetário de 01 a 40 salários mínimos, qualquer que seja a fonte, e abrange dez regiões metropolitanas do país, além dos municípios de Goiânia, Campo Grande, Rio Branco, São Luís, Aracaju e de Brasília.
Para o cálculo do índice do mês, foram comparados os preços coletados no período de 30 de maio de 2025 a 30 de junho de 2025 (referência) com os preços vigentes no período de 01 de maio de 2025 a 29 de maio de 2025 (base).
INPC tem alta de 0,23% em junho
O Índice Nacional de Preços ao Consumidor (INPC) teve alta de 0,23% em junho. No ano, o acumulado é de 3,08% e, nos últimos 12 meses, de 5,18%, abaixo dos 5,20% observados nos 12 meses imediatamente anteriores. Em junho de 2024, a taxa foi de 0,25%.
Os produtos alimentícios passaram de 0,26% em maio para -0,19% em junho. A variação dos não alimentícios passou de 0,38% em maio para 0,37% em junho.
Quanto aos índices regionais, a maior variação (0,55%) ocorreu em Belo Horizonte por conta da energia elétrica residencial (8,54%) e da gasolina (1,56%). A menor variação ocorreu em Porto Alegre (-0,10%) em razão da queda na gasolina (-2,56%) e nos produtos de higiene pessoal (-1,79%).
