  • Highlights

  • Event will take place at Serpro, from 10 am to 12 pm, with registration between 9 am and 10 am at the Auditorium of Serpro Headquarters (SGAN Block 601, Module "V" - Brasília/DF).
  • Event marks the cooperative partnership between the IBGE and Serpro in the planned building of pilot platforms in the Digital Era with partner offices of the federal administration in experimental studies and surveys in the fields of statistics and geography that use predictive models and data in 2025 and 2026.

On June 24, from 10 am to 12 pm, the National Program of Geoscientific and Statistical Governance and Intelligence to subsidize Predictive Public Policies will be launched at the Serpro headquarters in Brasília (SGAN Block 601, Module "V"), with the presence of public managers, authorities and experts.

Beyond the renowned IBGE production, itis important to develop a greater capacity for using predictive model and data, allowing to anticipate problems and opportunities so as governments, companies and individuals are better prepared in the medium and long terms in Brazil.

Predictive public policies represent an innovative approach for planning, using the power of data analysis and geo-referencing, which can anticipate challenges like optimizing resources, building a safer and more sustainable future.

The birth of the IBGE National Program in partnership with Serpro marks a new perspective in statistics and geosciences regarding the analytical and systemic approach of databases, which should be connected aiming at providing the Brazilian society with a full set of precise information based on the long-term development in the midst of challenges and opportunities of the Digital Era.

In line with this main objective, the IBGE-Serpro National Program proposes, in the 2025-2026 biennium, to build strategic analytical platforms for a deepened understanding of Brazil, which passes through a historical change in key themes, previously selected.

It should be registered that the National Program aims at accessing the databases for the purpose of storage, treatment and technical analysis through an institutional articulation and demand with different holders of administrative records and databases. Although public, the information bases available allow the desirable deepening of a more comprehensive knowledge on the complexity of each selected theme and their unfolding before the needs demanded by forecasts and predictions that widen the horizons of the national and sectoral planning.

To do this, it is required to manipulate microdata, which involves issues of confidentiality of individual information of physical and legal persons, as well as legal agreements to obtain them under the umbrella of the General Law of Data Protection (LGPD).

The event will present the partnerships and the pilot platforms of the National Program of Geoscientific and Statistical Governance and Intelligence to subsidize Predictive Public Policies in the 2025-2026 period.

Singed + National Program

The Sovereign National System of Geosciences, Statistics and Data (Singed) is proposed by the IBGE aiming at coordinating the geographic and statistical ecosystem shaped by decentralized administrative records and databases belonging to different governmental offices. Under the coordination of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), it aims at integrating administrative data, records and registers currently decentralized and fragmented through the homogenization and technical treatment to transform these data into predictive statistics.

The launching of the National Program of Geoscientific and Statistical Governance and Intelligence to subsidize Predictive Public Policies is a pilot action of the first solid step of Governance of Singed proposed by the IBGE in partnership with Serpro.
