More than two thousand persons attend the Triple International Forum on Global South Governance

More than two thousand people participated in person in the plenary sessions, diplomatic meetings, thematic panels and IBGE workshop on the first day of the Triple International Forum on Global South Governance, organized by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), in cooperation with the State Government of Ceará, from June 11 to 13, in Fortaleza (CE). The plenary sessions will be broadcast live on Digital IBGE and other social media channels of the Institute. Registration is still open; see the schedule on the event portal.
UN Development Programme (PNUD), do Banco do Nordeste do Brasil (BNB), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Ceará Without Hunger, Company of Participation and Assets Management of Ceará S.A. (Ceará Par), Secretariat of Tourism of Ceará, National Secretariat of Youth - General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic and other partners.
With the aim of sharing knowledge and strategies on new indicators and strategic themes for the development and sustainability of BRICS in the Digital Age, the joint opening session of the Triple Forum and BRICS was attended by more than 30 national and international representatives.






Thematic panels
On Wednesday morning (11), after the opening of the event, which was attended by the governor of Ceará, Elmano de Freitas, the president of IBGE, Marcio Pochmann, and representatives of the BRICS countries, the program began, including 14 thematic panels, 3 closed meetings, 3 main plenary sessions and the IBGE workshop Public Policies in the digital age: mastering IBGE data, among other meetings.

For Thursday (12), 3 thematic panels are planned for the main plenary session, 1 IBGE workshop, and the release of the Statistical Grid. On the last day of the event (13), there will be a plenary session on current and new youth indicators from the perspective of the Global South, organized by the National Youth Secretariat.
At the 36 thematic panels distributed across two floors of the Ceará Events Center, dozens of IBGE specialists and guests discuss current and future indicators on health, budget, education, culture, favelas and urban communities, economy, finance, environment, labor, color and race, tourism, communication, memory, among other topics.
