In April, National Index of Civil Construction changes 0.46%

The National Index of Civil Construction (Sinapi) changed 0.46% in April, standing 0.11 percentage points (p.p.) above the March´s rate (0.35%). The cumulative index in the last 12 months reached 4.74%, above the rate of 4.69% recorded in the 12 immediately previous months.
The national cost of construction per square meter changed from R$1,810.25 in March to R$1,818.64 in April, of which R$1,046.66 were relative to materials and R$771.98 to workforce.
The share of materials changed 0.31%, falling 0.04 percentage points in relation to March (0.35%). Compared with April last year (0.11%), it increased 0.20 percentage points.
Having signed a number of collective work agreements, the share of workforce recorded a rate of 0.68%, rising 0.32 percentage points over March (0.36%). It dropped 0.15 percentage points compared with April 2024 (0.83%). The cumulative figures in the last 12 months stood at 3.92% for materials and at 5.88% for workforce.
Northeast Region registers the highest monthly change in April
Influenced by the rise in Bahia, which signed a collective work agreement with the professional categories, the Northeast Region recorded the highest regional change in April (0.47%). The other regions showed the following results: 0.25% (North), 0.37% (Southeast), 0.42% (South) and 0.26% (Central-West).
Bahia reports the highest rise in April
With a rise in the share of materials and collective work agreements signed, Bahia was the state that recorded the highest rate in April (2.32%).
