IBGE offers holiday workshops at Casa Brasil IBGE SUDENE (PE)

The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) will hold the holiday workshops "Public policies in the digital era: Mastering IBGE data" at Casa Brasil IBGE SUDENE, in Recife (PE). Four in-person classes will be offered on January 20, 21, 27 and 28, for up to 80 students per class. Registration is free through the IBGE virtual shop up to January 10, 2025.
The objective of the workshop is to teach how to use data and information from IBGE's digital platforms, which contain more than 1 trillion variables and 1.5 billion data items.
The workshops will provide students, teachers, academics, public managers, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), among other interested parties, with appropriate and correct instruction on how to access and use data and information in accordance with best practices and meeting the needs and interests of students, researchers and workers.
Offered in person, always from 9 am to 12 pm, the workshops will be taught by technicians and specialists from the Coordination of Online Experience and Services of the IBGE's Center for Information Documentation and Dissemination (CEON/CDDI). At the end, participants will be granted a certificate from the National School of Statistical Sciences (ENCE).
The Casa Brasil IBGE SUDENE results from a cooperation agreement between the two institutions, it is located at the headquarters of the Northeast Superintendency of Development. The goal is that by 2026, the year of IBGE's 90th anniversary, the unit will also have a memory and technology expo, with regionalized information on the economy, social indicators and surveys on topics of public interest.
