For the second time this year, President Lula receives the president of the IBGE in an audience.

The audience took place this Tuesday (03/02) and was mentioned in the schedule of the Presidency.

The President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, received yesterday, at 5pm, in an audience at Palácio do Planalto, in Brasília, the president of the IBGE, Marcio Pochmann.

For more than an hour, Lula and Pochmann discussed strategic issues within the ongoing IBGE Work Plan for 2025 and 2025-2030.

Relevant aspects in the conversation were the strategic surveys currently in the field, such as the Consumer Expenditure Survey (POF), the Innovation Survey (Pintec) and the coming Census of Agriculture, Forestry and Aquaculture, which will have its 12th edition.

In an account of this year’s work, the president spoke about the Institute’s main priorities and challenges, with highlight to the National System of Geosciences, Statistics and Data (SINGED), and reported the joint efforts made with ministries and autarchies to start pilot tests, besides presenting the IBGE proposal to the presidency regarding Brics survey institutes, in 2025.

To Pochmann, "President Lula restated, once more, his admiration for the IBGE, as well as his commitment with its recovery and modernization. He also praised the Institute’s workers for their dedication to fulfilling the mission of portraying national reality."

On March 21, President Lula had already received Pochmann in an audience at the Alvorada.
