At Casa Brasil, IBGE will release 2022 Population Census: Indigenous peoples: literacy, birth records and characteristics of housing units

The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) will release, on October 4, at 10 am, the results of the 2022 Population Census - Indigenous peoples: literacy, birth records and characteristics of housing units, by specific areas, at Casa Brasil IBGE, on the ground floor of Palácio da Fazenda, downtown Rio de Janeiro (RJ).

With this publication, the IBGE expands the official portrait of this specific population group and presents previously unseen statistics about the literacy status of indigenous persons, by age groups, existence of birth records of indigenous children aged up to five and characteristics of occupied permanent private housing units with at least one indigenous resident, considering the following geographies: Brazil, Major Regions, Federation Units, Municipalities, Legal Amazon, Legal Amazon by Federation Units, Indigenous Land and Indigenous Land by Federation Units.

The event will be streamed on Digital IBGE, on the IBGE website and on the Institute's social media channels. The results will be available on the IBGE website and on platforms such as SIDRA, the Census Overview and the Geographic Interactive Platform (PGI), with interactive maps also used for visualization by the last two ones.
