2022 Census
In Rio (06/09), IBGE releases data about collective, improvised and non-occupied housing units

For the first time, results of the Census will be released at Casa Brasil IBGE, a place for memory and technology, located at Palácio da Fazenda, downtown Rio
Next September 6, at 10 am (Brasília local time), the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) will release the results of the “2022 Population Census: Types of collective, improvised and non-occupied housing units: Population results ”, with information about the population living in improvised and collective housing units, as well as about private non-occupied housing units (vacant and of occasional use). Data will be disaggregated by type of housing unit, sex and age. The illiteracy rate of the resident population in each type of collective housing unit will also be informed.
Besides results for Brazil, Major Regions and Federation Units, some information will also be available for municipalities. The release event will be held at Casa Brasil IBGE, at Palácio da Fazenda, located at Avenida Presidente Antônio Carlos, 375, térreo - Centro, Rio de Janeiro. The event will be streamed on Digital IBGE on the IBGE website and on the Institute’s social media channels. To attend the event you need to e-mail the Institute at eventosibge@ibge.gov.br. Registration starts at 9h. The results will also be available on the IBGE website and on platforms such as Sidra, the Interactive Geographic Platform (PGI) and the Census Overview.
IBGE gives workshop to public managers, educators and students
At 2 pm, at the same place, the IBGE will give the free workshop “A territory of information: Potentialities of 2022 Census data”, on technical and operational aspects of the survey and potentialities for decision making by local managers. The target audience of the workshop is public managers, educators and students.
The following topic will be approached during the workshop: what the Census is; figures of the operation; topics investigated; innovations in the 2022 Census; potentialities of data for local managers; tools and forms of access to data (2022 Census Overview SIDRA, PGI, BDiA); topics already released and prospects for coming releases. The IBGE professionals in charge of the workshop are the technical coordinator of the Census, Gustavo Junger, the manager of Planning of the Population Census, Giulia Scappini, the technician of the Department of Social Indicators, Bruno Perez, the manager of Geoinformation Production, Aline Coelho, and the Environment coordinator, Therence Sarti.
