President of the IBGE releases notice on actions in the 2024 Work Plan

In an event for the release of the 2024 IBGE Work Plan, held on Monday, 22, and broadcast online from the IBGE Branch in Guarulhos, president Marcio Pochmann read the notice below, that establishes actions for the implementation of the IBGE Work Plan.

As a continuation of the collective and cooperative construction process in progress in the IBGE, the President now releases ten guiding and structuring actions for 2024. By means of the IBGE 90 Dialogues series, phase one of this process resulted in 12 guidelines that will be followed by the Institute until 2026, year of its 90th anniversary. In phase two, the preparation and conclusion of the 2024 Work Plan allow us, on this date, to present a final version of the document to IBGE civil servants and to society.

The new actions in 2024 encompass all the areas of activity within the IBGE, including the unprecedented integration, systematization and consolidation of a proposal for cross participation in the National System of Geosciences, Statistics and Data (SINGED). Its focus is to lead the pace of preparation for the Digital Framework of Geosciences, Statistics and Data.

In order to reposition the IBGE in this era of data imposed by the Information Revolution, it is worth bringing together both scientific communities and producers and users of official and non-official data. In summary, to promote a collective and cooperative construction of an IBGE for All.

See the ten guiding actions:

1 - Release of the 2024 Work Plan that, by means of the Integration Dialogues (phase three of the IBGE 90 Dialogues) encompassing all the areas in the Institute for the implementation of the activities listed in the release calendar of studies, surveys and indicators. For year 2025, the new release calendar of studies, surveys and indicators is expected to have been finished and approved by October 2024, and to be released in November 2024.

2 - Creation of an internal commission to organize the 2nd IBGE 90 Dialogues Meeting, to be held on May 28 and 29, 2024, when the IBGE will celebrate its 88th anniversary, having as main topic: the new IBGE within the National System of Geosciences, Statistics and Data (SINGED);

3 - Creation of a commission to host, in July 2024, the National Conference of Producers and Users of Statistical, Geographic and Environmental Information, having as main topic: the National System of Geosciences, Statistics and Data;

4 – Establishment of a new work regime for the presidency, directorates, advisory boards, departments, sectors and superintendencies at hybrid, face-to-face and distance scales, so as to meet the demands provided by the 2024 Work Plan and foster the process of internal reorganization for the admission of new civil servants hired by means of the Unified National Competitive Examination;

5 – Creation of an internal commission to set the basis and the structure for the work of new IBGE Regional Centers aiming at a better operationalization of activities in the 27 IBGE State superintendencies;

6 - Creation of an internal commission to reorganize historical publications and the release of new publications within the scope of the Work Plan;

7 - Creation of the Digital IBGE to connect actions within the website and social media, having the IBGE Calendar as a means to consolidate the institutional schedule and the dissemination of the activities performed by the Institute;

8 – Replacement of the Administrative Data System (SDA) for the Electronic Information System (SEI) and creation of the e-IBGE, conceived as a new internal technological structure for the request of works, events, publications, System of Institutional Partnerships, among other demads;

9 – Creation of an internal commission to define the content of “The IBGE can do more” program, aiming at the improvement of work conditions and physical, technological and safety structures, the elimination of rework, the intelligent use of public resources and the increase of efficiency and effectiveness in the institution.

10 - Creation of a new area for geoscientific, statistical and data intelligence at Ence, aiming at the development and adoption of innovations in processes and products.
