Next Monday, 22, from 4 PM to 5 PM, the Presidency of the IBGE will release the 2024 Work Plan at the IBGE Branch in Guarulhos. The event is closed to the public, but it will be broadcast through the Webex platform for IBGE officers and through the IBGE portal (www.ibge.gov.br) for the external public.

At the opportunity, Marcio Pochmann, President of the IBGE, and his staff will present the 2024 Work Plan, a summary executive publication and part of a document that gathered contributions that added up to more than 800 pages.

The two publications will be available after the presentation on the IBGE channels.

Unprecedented collective participation

The 2024 Work Plan is an unprecedented collective construction. The Horizontal Dialogs occurred between the months of September and November, with more than ten thousand participants, either on-site or off-site, among IBGE officers in the entire country. With the presence of more than 500 IBGE officers, national and international authorities and representatives from ministries and other offices, the IBGE carried out the 1st Meeting IBGE Dialogs 90 Years in Parada de Lucas, northern zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro, which democratically established 12 guidelines for the 2024 Work Plan and will subsidize the revision of the Institutional Strategic Plan for the 2024-2026 period.

The Sectoral Dialogs were carried out in the months of November and December, aiming at developing the Work Plan, in tune with the budget and employment regime suited for 2024. All the IBGE state superintendencies, directorates, coordinations and managements gathered in 44 Sectoral Dialogs involving more than 220 officers in charge of the statistical and geoscientific production and systematization and of actions of corporate support.

Converging to the 12 guidelines established by officers, retired persons, union members and collaborators for the 2023-2026 period, and meeting the IBGE´s Code of Good Practices for Official Statistics based on the United Nations recommendations, the Sectoral Dialogs contributed to develop a new methodology to build a participative, transparent and democratic Work Plan.
