IBGE assists more than 70 participants on day one of Federative Caravan in Maranhão

IBGE's Superintendency in Maranhão (SES-MA) provided assistance to more than 70 participants on the first day of the Federative Caravan of Maranhão, started this Thursday, 23. The sixth edition of the Federal Government Caravan is being held in the Maranhão Craft Marketing Center (Ceprama), located in the capital, São Luís. The event includes lectures, workshops, technical services and assistance from several federal institutions, aiming at fostering the institutional engagement among federal, state and municipal administrations in order to establish cooperation and a permanent communication channel for federated entities.
The local organization received the visitors this Thursday morning with cultural presentations, thematic panels and a ceremony attended by the governor of Maranhão, Carlos Brandão, and ministers. Mayors, councilors, secretaries and coordinators from more than 30 municipalities were at the IBGE stand, receiving guidance from SES-MA on different services offered by the Institute. Representatives of agencies and municipalities were also able to access data from the 2022 Census, the tools available at IBGEeduca, the 2023 Survey of Basic Municipal Information (Munic), among other products.












Representatives from the Mailing Services, the Military Police and the Institute of Socioeconomic and Cartographic Studies of Maranhão (Imesc) also visited the stand. As a whole, more than 70 assistance services were provided, with the delivery of an IBGE promotional kit including bag, notebook, pen, calendar map and folders summarizing some of the IBGE surveys: Municipal Agricultural Production (PAM), Municipal Livestock Production (PPM), Forestry Activities (PEVS), Vital Statistics, GDP of Municipalities. In addition, flyers of the 2022 Census and of the IBGE Automatic Recovery System (SIDRA) course were handed out.
The assistance provided at the IBGE stand is carried out by the Institute's technicians and analysts. The IBGE superintendent in Maranhão, Marcelo Virginio de Melo, and the general coordinator of the Center for Information Documentation and Dissemination (CDDI), Daniel Castro, were also present at the event.
The Federative Caravan expands the Federal Government's service provision to municipalities and states through the participation of Ministries, public bodies and federated entities.
