Industry in Amazonas grows influenced by beverages

Eliminating the previously observed drop of 0.5%, the Amazon industry was the one that advanced the most (3.9%), from September to October 2017. The sectors of beverages, electronics and motorcycles were the ones with the higest growth.
In addition to Amazonas, few Brazilian states followed the upward trend of the domestic industry, which was 0.2% in this period. According to the Monthly Survey of Industry-Regional Production, released today by IBGE, only six of the 14 places surveyed had positive rates.
"When we look at the regional results, we realize a different behavior from that observed at the sectoral level Brazil, where there was a clear predominance of increasing activities. As a result, we have a feeling of a greater concentration of this growth ", comments the survey manager André Macedo.
With a drop of 7.0%, the industry of Bahia was the one that fell the most. "Bahia has dropped to a much greater extent. Much of this result has to do with two specific sectors: that of pulp and paper, which was affected by the shutdown of a production unit, and that of petroleum products and biofuels, "says André.
