ENCE´s post-graduation completes 20 years

The IBGE´s National School of Statistical Sciences - ENCE was founded in 1953 and it is the only Statistics school in Brazil. The bachelor of Statistics is the oldest one in Brazil. ENCE offers lato sensu post-graduation courses since 1984. The stricto sensu Academic Master in Population Studies and Social Surveys was created in 1998.

From 2014 onward, the program´s name changed to Post-Graduation in Population, Territory and Public Statistics, in line with the Capes approval of the PhD course with the same name, which started in March 2015.

ENCE´s post-graduation program has two research lines: Population, Territory and Life Conditions, which studies the dynamics of the population, territory and life conditions of the population, comprising environmental, economic and social aspects; and Production of Public Statistics, which studies the planning and operation of censuses, sample surveys and administrative records used to produce public statistics on the dynamics of the population, territory and life conditions of the population.
